Slideshow: Snow at Holkham

Christmas card scenes can be viewed across the region as the cold snap continues.

But few places can look as magnificent in the wintry weather as the palladian hall and grounds of Holkham Hall, near Wells.

A glistening carpet of snow adorned the rolling parkland yesterday and the resident herd of deer were even more impressive against the crisp white backdrop.

A layer of ice was still covering the lake, giving swans the chance to walk across the frozen water.
