A church is still looking to replace the lead stolen from its roof almost six years ago.
The trustees of the Friends of St Andrew’s Church in Little Massingham, near Fakenham, are still looking to generate £150,000 to replace the stolen material and swap out the ‘temporary’ section of the roof which sits above the altar to a new permanent solution.
The trustees were looking to replace just the lead, but after Rosemary Jewers raised over £10,000 with a sponsored 90-mile trek, they decided to set up The Friends Of St Andrews Church charity to raise the six-figure sum.

“You can hardly notice that temporary roof, but it only has a limited time before it starts to deteriorate,” Mrs Jewers said.
“We have £14,000, so we have a long way to go and a lot of work to reach our target.”
The charity is hosting a Bach Concert with conductor Orlando Joplin to continue raising money for the roof on May 19.
Tickets are £25 and can be purchased at https://fosalm.org/, or in cash on the night. Tickets will also be available through Eventbrite.
