Trowse

Polly Hughes, part of the residential sales team at Savills, said Trowse was one of her favourite places to unwind with family and friends.

She said: "I live quite near there so I’m ever so slightly biased, but it’s a lovely location.

“Whitlingham Lake is very peaceful and there is some wonderful woodland. It’s also a great spot from which to explore the surrounding countryside, with some lovely walks in the neighbouring south Norfolk villages of Caistor St Edmunds and Shotesham St Mary - to name just a few.

The average house price in the last 12 months was £462,139, according to property listing website Zoopla.

Ms Hughes added: "If relaxing with a spot of retail therapy is more your style, or you enjoy eating out, then Norwich is also on your doorstep – giving you the best of both worlds.”

Brancaster

Another "clear winner" and favourite for the estate agent, was Brancaster. She said: “It’s an obvious choice for many but if you prefer the coast then Brancaster is lovely.

"It has a beautiful beach, a selection of pubs and RSPB Titchwell Marsh down the road, as well as being close to other renowned beaches like Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea.”

Known for its beach with dunes and seals, the village was likened to The Hamptons by estate agent Savills and the Telegraph and named one of the UK's most upmarket seaside towns.

The average house price in the last 12 months was £1,141,600, according to property listing website Zoopla.
