Three people were left stranded after being cut off by the sea during a high tide in north Norfolk.

Two adults and a child became stranded on the foreshore at the beach in Wells-next-the-Sea at 6.30pm yesterday.

HM Coastguard paged Wells RNLI at 6.42pm where they launched 'Peter Wilcox', their inshore lifeboat, along with a volunteer crew of three from the north slipway.

The team travelled to the west side of the beach where the stranded group were quickly located within four minutes.

After escaping without any injuries, they boarded the lifeboat and safely returned to shore at 7.02pm.
