A seafood restaurant on the Norfolk coast has been announced as a finalist for a major national award. 

Wells Crab House is in the running to be named 'Seafood Restaurant of the Year' at the English Restaurant Awards 2024, with the ceremony due to take place in Manchester this summer.

It is up against nine other dining spots dotted across the nation and the overall winner will be decided through public votes.

Wells Crab House, located a stone's throw from the harbour, was opened by couple Kelly and Scott Dougal in 2016.

They have been celebrated with several awards over the last eight years, including 'Best Seafood Establishment' and 'Restaurant of the Year' at The Food Awards England 2023. 

The English Restaurant Awards are coordinated by Creative Oceanic to celebrate independent businesses that offer top-notch food and customer service.

A spokesperson said: “This is an amazing opportunity to celebrate and showcase the very best and diverse range in English dining.
