Several planned roadworks across Norfolk are causing delays for drivers.

Here are five works and closures that motorists should be aware of over the next seven days.

1. Frettenham Road in Horstead

The road closed on Monday and will remain shut until May 3 to allow for repairs.

A full road closure will be in place for the duration of the works which will cost £3,500.

A signed diversion route will be in place throughout the closure.

2. A149 in Holkham and Burnham Overy

Closing today, Norfolk County Council highways teams will begin replacing road studs and markings whilst also renewing the road surface on the A149 Main Road in Holkham.

The closure will run from 7am to 6pm, with further closures lined up in May.

Beginning April 26, the same will be done for the A149 Wells Road in Burnham Overy.

3. A148 in Tattersett

Norfolk County Council will close the A148 Fakenham Road at Tattersett on several dates for surfacing work, line painting and cat’s eyes being renewed.

The road will be closed to through traffic between 7pm on April 29 and 6am on April 30.

4. Norwich Road in Fakenham

The town end of Norwich Road in Fakenham will be closed to through traffic until Monday to allow for utility repairs and maintenance work to be carried out by UK Power Networks.

A two-mile diversion route is in place during the closure via Queens Road, Holt Road, Pensthorpe Road and back on Norwich Road.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

5. Long Stratton A140 bypass

Having started on Monday, Church Lane, Edge's Lane, Hall Lane and Parkers Lane will be closed for the duration of the work.

The closure will add a new two-and-a-half-mile single carriageway which will lead traffic past the south Norfolk town.

The work, due to continue until autumn next year, will see the new road built on fields to the east of Long Stratton.
