Norfolk is populated with many defensive structures that have played a role in stopping invasion.

From the remains of ancient castles through to Napoleonic Martello towers, forts and Second World War defences.

Some of those
monuments have become hidden as the county modernises but a new book hopes to show Norfolk through the Great War and what has happened to those areas today.

Norfolk in the Great War From Old Photographs by
Neil R. Storey gives an
insight into the county with some photos ad posters that have never been
seen before.

The book is available in store, in Kindle, Kobo and iBook formats.

Mr Storey is an award-winning social historian who specialises in the impact of war on British society. He as been writing since the late 1980s. Other works include The Little Book Of Norfolk, Hanged in Norwich
and Norfolk - A
Ghosthunter’s Guide.
