A charity barn dance is to be held in October to raise money for mosquito nets that will be donated to villages in the West African nation of Gambia.
It is the fourth annual barn dance to be hosted by Mattishall-based charity, Gambian Aid Through Education, and all the money raised will go towards buying mosquito nets that will be sent to Gambia to help prevent the spread of malaria.
The founder and trustee of the charity, Janet Clark, said: “We have covered every bed in 10 villages so far and they have reported that children are no longer dying of Malaria. A net costs £5 and each bed covered will sleep four or five children.”
The dance will take place on October 7 at East Tuddenham Village Hall from 7pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £7 for children and include an evening supper of sausages, beans and jacket potatoes.
