Flood alerts remain in place around the north Norfolk coast

Flood alerts remain in force along the north Norfolk coast this morning despite no flooding having been reported to the Environment Agency.

On Tuesday the authority said there could be minor flooding to coastal roads and footpaths between 7.45am and 9.45am on Wednesday (September 12) for areas including Eccles on Sea to and including Winterton-on-sea, Bacton to Ostend, including Walcott, East Cley to Kelling Hard including Salthouse and from Old Hunstanton to and including Cley.

But the Environment Agency and Norfolk County Council said they had heard no reports of flooding during the high tide.

An alert for high tides and windy conditions was also issued from Hunstanston to north of King’s Lynn.
