The group raised £750 for Cancer Research UK in memory of Roy Ferris who sadly passed away in June.

Mr Ferris was the marketing and publicity member of the society for several years, and actively involved alongside his family.

A cheque was presented to Fakenham Cancer Research shop manager Sandy Atkins.

FADLOS sold more than 1,200 tickets to the Sister Act production and received standing ovations.

Members are still smiling with pride.

The small society has worked hard continuously to make sure that ticket prices stay affordable and the quality of the production stays high.

Founding member Avril Temple, who starred as one of the nuns, said: “I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 50 years of FADLOS.

“We are more than an amateur theatre group, we are a family and a team where everyone has a part to play to make it happen.”

FADLOS was set up in 1967 in Fakenham performing plays with local people.

After five years the group was invited to become the resident in house theatrical group at the newly built Fakenham Community Centre.

After 10 years they started producing an annual family pantomime.

Years later FADLOS Kidz was created to give youngsters an opportunities.

FADLOS has traditionally produced one musical and one pantomime each year and has won seven NODA awards.

The next stop for the group is the 40th anniversary of a FADLOS traditional pantomime.

This year, FADLOS present Jack and the Beanstalk, which will be performed in December.

Audtions are open to all.

Children auditions are for to anyone aged seven to 14.

They are on Monday, August 28 at 6pm at Fakenham Community Centre which is followed with a read through for anyone aged 14 and above.

The adult auditions are on Wednesday, August 30 at 7.30pm at Fakenham Community Centre.
