Councillors from the North Norfolk District Council are expected to attend Fakenham’s upcoming town council meeting to provide an update on the proposed sale of Highfield Road car park.
The update on October 10 will be the first since the NNDC’s online survey came to an end on September 29.
It was launched in August to get feedback from residents about the idea of selling the car park and using the land for housing for the over-55s.
But an online booklet explaining the reasons for the sale sparked a row between the town council and the district council, with Mayor George Acheson saying he disagreed with nearly all the points made in the booklet.
The town council later released their own research, focussing heavily on the usage of the car park. The data appears to conflict the district council’s claim the Highfield is underused.
The meeting will take place at 7pm at Fakenham Connect, Oak Street, on Tuesday October 10.
