Holkham Hall has been honoured at a heritage awards ceremony, following its multi-million pound refurbishment.

The winners of the prestigious 2017 Hudson’s Heritage Awards were announced on Tuesday March 14, with Norfolk’s Holkam Hall collecting awards in the Best Family Day Out and Best Shopping categories.

The estate underwent a £4.5 million refurbishment in 2016 and added new visitor facilities including, a contemporary events and wedding venue, a new courtyard café and an interactive exhibition.

Penelope, Viscountess Cobham, CBE, chairman of VisitEngland, presented the awards at Goldsmiths Hall in London.

Lady Leicester of Holkham Hall said: “We are delighted to have won these 2017 Hudson’s Heritage Awards. They demonstrate the high standards and commitment we offer our visitors to ensure their experience is the very best.”
