The Fakenham Fellowship Band presented the Friday Night is Music Night concert at the Salvation Army on Oak Street in Fakenham on May 4.

While there was no entry fee, a total of £950 was donated towards the Salvation Army’s campaign to stop modern slavery.

During the concert, Fakenham’s former CO, now divisional mission enabler, Major Allister Versfeld, screened a short film and talked about his own personal experiences of helping victims of modern slavery.

Musicians Margaret and Brian Lewis were also presented with certificates for their years of contribution to the Salvation Army. Mrs Lewis began as pianist at her home corps in South Wales from the age of 11 and joined Fakenham when she moved there in 1970. She has been playing for a total of 71 years.
