Is this your favourite window with a view in Norfolk? If not, what is?
The view from the south-facing windows at Holkham Hall has been named the best in the region in a national competition.
Thousands of people across the country selected their favourite images of stunning architecture and landscapes.
And following a public vote, the view at the north Norfolk country house was named the East of England’s Best Window with a View.
Holkham went up against Knebworth House, Newnham College, Cambridge and Titchwell Manor, Brancaster in the East of England region in the second year of the Window with a View competition, which was launched by MyGlazing.com, the independent free consumer advice site.
Laurane Herrieven, marketing manager, Holkham Estate, said: “We are delighted to have been voted ‘Regional Winner for the East of England’ at the Window with a View competition by MyGlazing.com.
“The south-facing windows at Holkham Hall showcase spectacular views of the estate’s grounds, the obelisk and the Grade II listed fountain depicting the Greek legend of Perseus and Andromeda. We are very much looking forward to the final and crossing our fingers for a good result.”
Holkham Hall will now go up against finalists from 10 other areas across the country in a public vote to fight it out for the title of the UK’s Best Window with a View. The national winner will be decided via an online vote at MyGlazing.com/WWAV. Voting will close on September 30.
