A poppy shop is set to open in Fakenham at the end of October, coinciding with the launch of the annual poppy appeal.

The shop on Oak Street will be operated by the Royal British Legion and opened by Town Mayor George Acheson on Saturday.

Diane Boisson, the new Fakenham Poppy Appeal organiser, said: “We’re really excited about having a Poppy shop here in Fakenham.

“People will be able pop in and buy their poppies and other poppy merchandise and find out about all the good work that the Legion does supporting serving Armed Forces people, their dependents and veterans, who are in need”.

Legion volunteers will also be seen in the town and poppy boxes and collection tins will be in shops, schools and other establishments.

After the official opening the shop will be open on Thursday November 2, Saturday November 4, Thursday November 9 and Saturday November 11.
