Youth club members in Swaffham have held a tea party and debate to celebrate 90 years of British men and women having equal rights to vote.

The Iceni young leaders, part of the Iceni youth club in the town, celebrated the anniversary of the Representation of the People Act 1928 with an EqualiTea event, where they celebrated the lives of inspirational women and young people.

Swaffham Lions President Pam Tallon was asked to take part along with other leading women from the town.

The evening turned into a lively debate as the youngsters invited discussion on a range of subjects associated with equality.

The evening finished off with tea and cakes prepared by the young people.

The ninety year old Representation of the People Act is considered one of the most important democratic law changes in history.

The event in Swaffham was one of around 3000 that were organised around the country.
