Fans have been giving their reaction to reports Canaries boss Paul Lambert has quit the club.

Every second, posts about the Norwich City manager and his future have been appeared on social networking site Twitter.

Here are some of your thoughts:

@VitalNorwich: Can’t sleep for the life of me. I’m gonna try and count Paul Lamberts jumping over the fence.

@hucks6dh6: Twitter has gone Paul Lambert walkout crazy! Not seen any concrete evidence anywhere but too many reporting it to be nothing? #ncfc

@Young_Riles: Here’s a promise – If Paul Lambert stays #ncfc manager, I’ll quit Twitter. Permanently. I hope no one hears from me again!!

@tony_sutton: Paul Lambert quits Norwich after furious row over Villa job << Oh well... time for a new manager then

@1laurence9owell: Very disappointing if Lambert has quit #ncfc would have least like him to make Villa fight for him instead of running to them like this!

@TonyHedges: If Lambert has gone there’s nothing we can do, other than say, thanks for the journey.

@adampotter92: Can’t believe Lambert has walked #HugeLoss

@hawkerby1980: Thanks Lambert for an amazing few years. Loved every minute.

@gavdent: Don’t really get why Paul Lambert would quit #ncfc for #avfc – interesting to see if he has really quit

@TerryReeve: If it’s true Lambert has gone who’s next? My shout is for Malky!! #ncfc #otbc Truly gutted through, but what a 3 yrs he’s given us

@TylerEvansNCFC: If it’s true, how could Lambert leave!!!!? #ncfc #nothappy

@E16Canary: Just woken up to potentially the news we’re all fearing. Please stay Lambert! #ncfc” < this

@mediadventurer: Villa to focus on landing Lambert < keep ya mugs off our Lambs, you’re not worthy...err...please

@rob_broke: I’m glad I didn’t have a swearbox next to me when I woke up this morning and saw the Lambert news. Still, got to wish him well

@rogerbilton: Why would you want to live in Birmingham instead of Norwich? Mr Lambert you have made a boo boo mate

@leonraby: If Lambert was to go make it quick so we can appoint a new manager and give them time with the squad

@Wazza_P: Until I see something from the club / Lambert I am inclined to think that this has come from #avfc trying to buy time / test the water. #ncfc

  • Sad but inevitable... thanks Paul for what you have done for NCFC. What really sticks in my throat is the way this whole sag has been 'run' by the media speculation... it seems to me that Rodgers, Martinez and Lambert have all been in the running for any number of jobs - the Villa chairman admitted as much! Oh the joys of the farcical managerial merry-go-round...

  • hope it's not true but IF it is, hope we can at least hold on GH who, I'm pretty sure, will follow PL to Villa...

  • I think we need to ask ourselves, "Do we believe everything we read in the papers and, especially, The Sun?" We also need to bear in mind that the first things that newspapers must do is to sell newspapers. I don't know how many more they sold because of this story?

  • Although a huge challenge, I wouldn't have thought Villa was the obvious career stepping stone for PL. He is a great manager, and I hope we keep him, but, his stock is rising and I am sure he has ambitions beyond Norwich City. What a pity Football Managers and Players weren't fans too. It doesn't really matter if Paul Lambert or Grant Holt are not here next season (although we do hope they are). What really matters is 25,000 odd City supporters WILL BE THERE IN FULL VOICE to cheer on their team in yellow and green ! OTBC

  • I think the latest is he has not quit but will most likely speak to Villa - he is after all their 3rd choice for Manager .....not really a compliment is it???

  • Lambert is the best manager we have ever had when you consider the ccontext. He has been shrewd with the media over the last few weeks. Yes, he hasn't said he wants to leave but he hasn't said he wants to stay either. He's also quietly made the point that his ambitIon and that of the board for next season are different and that if we finish 17th next season (which would satisfy the board's ambition, the fans would want his head. The upshot? Lambert feels he's taken us as far as he can and the only way he can ensure his stock continues to rise will be to move on. I'll miss his reign terribly. He was the best thing that happened to us for a very long time but I'm a Norwich fan, not a Paul lambert fan at the end of the day. We need to turn our attention and energy to finding the right manager for us rather than trying to keep someone who doesn't want to stay, sad as that may be to deal with today.

  • I am a devoted follower and admirer of King Lambert. I believe that he has every right to look elsewhere for another job. Doesn't matter how many thousands idolise him here, he has to love the workplace and if that becomes untenable then its time for him to find solace in another job. Since the breakdown of his marriage, and so far from his homeland, he must have become increasingly lonely in his private life and I for one, would not want anything to stand in his way of happiness in his career and the future. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful three years you have been with us and for the legacy and legend that you leave behind. Good luck and God bless in all that you do.
