Beaumont’s Party came from nowhere in an incident-packed finish to give Antonia Peck her first winner in the Aylsham Show - August Bank Holiday Handicap Hurdle for lady amateur riders at Fakenham.

Sent off at 15-2, the Laura Morgan-trained 10-year-old had lots to do after the last, but Peck shone on her first ride over hurdles, driving her mount home by half a length from 15-8 favourite Prince Khurram, after Buckontupence had dramatically unseated Emma Yardle when in with every chance.

Peck said: “I thought he had a chance and he went again. It’s a great feeling!”

Morgan added: “Antonia is my step-sister and I want to support her, she’s a really good girl.

“She gave him a brilliant ride and did exactly what I told her. I thought he had an each-way squeak and I’m delighted.”

The former Irish-trained Camillas Wish (9-2) was an easy winner of the Get Active Fakenham 19th - 27th August Novices’ Handicap Hurdle on her first start for trainer Richard Ford, coming home with five lengths to spare over Overtoujay in the hands of Becky Smith.

Smith is based in North Yorkshire with Micky Hammond and was riding her 12th winner.

That’s The Deal (8-1) prevailed as the outsider of four in the Jarrold Ladies Day Handicap Chase.

Amiral Collonges was disappointing and pulled up, and it was the John Cornwall-trained That’s The Deal under Lee Edwards who proved just the strongest to beat Shady Glen by five lengths.

Gannicus lunged last of all to take the King’s Lynn Audi Maiden Hurdle in another crowd pleaser.

Trained by Brendan Powell and ridden by his son, Brendan jnr, the 11-2 chance was only fourth jumping the final flight but got up to score by a head from 2-1 favourite Coroberee.

The Racing Partnership Novices’ Handicap Chase was reduced to just two runners but still served up a treat as Brian Ellison’s Eyes Of A Tiger (evens) found the post coming just in time to hold off the rallying 4-5 favourite Stynes by a length.
