Fakenham Town bowed out of Thurlow Nunn League Cup at Clipbush Park on Tuesday night after losing a penalty shoot-out to visitors King’s Lynn Reserves.

The tie finished 2-2 after 90 minutes and went straight to spot-kicks, with the Linnets prevailing 4-2.

Kyke Plumb scored twice in the opening half hour to put Fakenham in apparent command before Toby Hilliard pulled one back before the break and then scored his second after it to complete the scoring.

Bradenham Wanderers moved up to third in the Anglian Combination Premier Division with a thumping 6-1 win over basement side Reepham. Joel Brien led the way with a hat-trick while the other home goals came from Rob Thurley, Jason Hunt and Liam Stockell, with Emanuel Thurston scoring for Reepham.

Bradenham travel to Acle United on Saturday.

In Division One Hindringham came away from Attleborough with a 2-2 draw. Dan Miles and Dan Whitman scored for the hosts while Matt Hudson and Darren West scored to earn the away side a point.

Hindringham’s search for a first league win of the season continues at fellow strugglers Loddon on Saturday.

Wells Town’s poor run in Division Two continued when they were beaten 4-0 at Beach Road by Martham, for whom Sam Patterson scored twice and Darren Patterson and Oliver Woodhouse were also on target.

Wells Town Reserves lost 4-1 at home in midweek in Hindringham Reserves in Division Five South, with Jay Myhill getting the consolation.

Wells play host to Brandon Town on Saturday while the Seasiders’ second string are at Necton.
