There is plenty happening in mid and north Norfolk this weekend. Here are our 10 suggestions.

Friday and Saturday - Dereham youth theatre company presents Fusion at Dereham Memorial Hall. It is a mash-up of 60 years of pop, rock and musical theatre. Performances start at 7.30pm, tickets cost £12 (£10 for those under 18) from the box office at Bright & Beautiful Flowers, 3A Wellington Road, Dereham, 01362 288124 or online at www.dosoc.co.uk.

Friday - Summer Social Evening at 6.30pm at Old School Room, Well Lane, Sparham. Evening stroll of around three miles (1½ hours) around Sparham village, followed by a get-together with wine and cheese, tea, coffee, soft drinks from 8 pm. All welcome including dogs and non-walkers. No ticket required; just pay £10 per person on arrival. Proceeds in aid of continuing refurbishment of the village Old School Room.

Saturday - Blakeney, Screen-on-Sea charity concert, 11am to 6pm, at the quayside car park. A fascinating glimpse of our local seaside history, with archive films brought to you by Cambridge Film Trust featuring archive gems of Blakeney holidays and nearby Morston in the 50s. Free entry.

Saturday - Reepham Methodist Church, Flower Festival, 10am to 4pm. Also plant stall, gift and Traidcraft stalls, light refreshments, contact Wendy Squires 01603 870830.

Saturday and Sunday - Castle Acre Priory, Medieval Life and Laughter event. Activities, meet a monk, craftsmen, cooks and comedians in the living history encampments. Demonstrations include drill display by soldiers of the 15th century and a firepower show. Explore the priory ruins, visit the stonework display, or take part in the site’s family trail. 11am to 5pm, www.english-heritage.org.uk/castleacrepriory.

Sunday - Dereham Carnival, parade starts at 11am on Greenfields Road, activities, displays, entertainment and music at the recreation ground all day, pre-carnival party at the Dereham Baptist Church in the High Street from 10am to 11.30am with bacon rolls, ice cream, drinks, crafts and games. Sunday - Great Ryburgh. Playing Field Committee fun dog show 11am to 3pm. 15 classes to include pedigree bitch, pedigree dog and pedigree puppies (and same type of classes for crossbreeds), my best friend, the dog the judge would like to take home, best obedience and many more. £2 per class or three classes for £5. Sunday - Warham Village Fete, family fun with games, tombola stall, plant, cakes and bric-a-brac. At the village hall and on the village green. Free entry.

Sunday - Litcham, open gardens. 2pm and 5pm, many gardens will be open to the public, including The Old Rectory and Litcham Hall. All proceeds are going to the village charity.

Sunday - Wood Dalling, summer concert at St Andrew’s Church, 4.30pm. Choral and string quartet, music for everyone. Tickets £5, available on the door (12 and under free), followed by a barbecue £5 per ticket. Proceeds to the church and village hall. Contact: Jonathan 01263 587631 or Beryl 01263 587005.
