Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket will be bringing his trademark black wellies and comedic catchphrases to Cromer Pier this month.

The 1980s icon is back on tour with his Great Value for a Tenner show and will be performing at the town centre venue on Monday, August 13 at 7.30pm.

Fans of his original television and radio shows will remember Jimmy for wearing his wellington boots on the wrong feet, his famous letters from his Mammy and his catchphrases of “come closer” and “there’s more”.

Julie Howes, of Cromer Pier, said: “He has lost none of his talent or energy and his theatre shows are as hilarious as ever, winning him new fans wherever he performs to add to the legions he has amassed in his formidable career.

“Jimmy remains one of the few completely family friendly comedians currently on tour and has great pride in being regaled as having a truly clean act.”

Jimmy will be crowning Miss Cromer on Sunday, August 12 at Cromer Carnival. The ceremony will take place on the pier forecourt at 12.15pm.

Cromer Pier will also be hosting hit show The Magic of Motown on August 12. The cast will perform songs from The Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Mary Wells and Lionel Richie.

And the two winners of a North Norfolk News competition for a pair of tickets each to see the performance are Victoria Crowe of Thorpe Market and Ian Digby of Springfield Road, Heartsease.

  • I'd be willing to pay £10 to avoid seeing him.
