A concert celebrating the work of the pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff is set to take place at Holkham Hall to help raise money for Alderman Peel High School at Wells.

The concert on April 19 is part of the school’s 88 Keys Project, which aims to raise £10,000 to replace a grand piano in the school’s main hall.

A number of notable musicians from the local area will perform at the concert, including pianist Chris Green-Armytage, who studied to play the piano at the world famous Juilliard School in New York.

Michelle Wolfe, director of learning arts and technology faculty at the school, said: “We’ve had a huge amount of support from the community, with many people giving their time toward the concert. There will be a number of works that haven’t been performed in this region before.”

Tickets are £12 for adults and £8 for under-16s, available from the school office.
