A man who calls both rural Norfolk and rural Spain home has celebrated the community of both, with the launch of his new project.

Andrew Ruffhead, artist and owner of Fish and Ships Coastal Art in Burnham Market, is well known for his colourful artwork depicting iconic north Norfolk scenery.

Mr Ruffhead and his wife have recently bought a holiday home in the tiny white village of Maro, on the sea, east of Malaga.

The village is very rural, and has made them very welcome; so much so that they wanted to give something back to their new neighbours.

The designer has lent his talent to his new community, and has finished an illustration of the village featuring the all important church, the nearby eagle aquaduct and the famous Maro caves, and has donated this to the village.

He has had initially had a hundred copies of the print made A3 size, to be sold in the village with all monies taken going to the Church and the elderly of the village.

As a result of this, he has now been commissioned to design the poster for the Maro Feria, in September.

This is an important date on the calendar when the whole village celebrates the Virgen de Las Maravillas, with four days of religious processions, partying, music and fireworks.
