7 Frightfully fun activities in Norfolk and Waveney for the whole family to enjoy during Half Term

From parades to dungeon tours, it’s all happening in Norfolk this half term.

1. BeWILDerwood’s Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade, BeWILDerwood, Hoveton, 14-29 October

If you’re looking for something a little less fearsome and a little more fun this Halloween, head on over to BeWILDerwood with the kids and celebrate with Snagglefang the bat, wicked witches, Slitherigrubs, Thorneycold Spiders and Swampy as part of the adventure park’s Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade. Children will be able to spend the day exploring the woodland, discovering the fangtastic decorations, listening to a special Bewilderbats storytelling session and build and decorate their own lantern for the parade itself.

2. Hallowe’en Trail at Museum of the Broads, Stalham, October 20-29, Sunday to Fri 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-1pm

Learn something new while still indulging in horrors this Halloween at the Museum of the Broads where a selection of fun themed events will be taking place throughout the month. A fun trail around the museum has also been organised where guests can discover more about Broadland’s ghoulish ghosts and win a creepy prize, but make sure to watch out for the Wroxham Witch!

3. Spooky Spectacular, Baylham House Rare Breeds Farm, October 21-29

During October, Baylham House Farm are putting on a range of fangtastic family activities for the whole family. Guests will also be able to meet and feed all of the site’s rare breed animals. The farm is open 10am until 5am and under 4’s recieve free entry upon arrival.

4. Halloween Spooktacular 2017, The Hippodrome Circus, October 20-31

The Hippodrome Circus will be putting on a spooky spectaular show this Halloween, filled with an amazing cast of international acts. Producer Jack Jay, said: “The great thing about our Halloween show is how much audience interaction there is, you’re not just watching the show, you’re part of it! Last year so many people from young kids to grandparents came in full fancy dress and this year we want to encourage even more people to do the same.” The show runs daily at 2.30 and 6.30pm, with times varying on Sundays (1pm and 4pm) and on 30-31 October when there are only 6pm showings.

5Jazz up your Jungle Pumpkin, Urban Jungle, Beccles, From October 25 and 27

Over October 25 and 27, Urban Jungle will be holding a session to help people decorate pumpkins to create beautiful autumnal centrepieces for the home and garden. The event costs £5 and the price includes a pumpkin, paint and accessories.

6. Half Term Halloween fun, Park Britannia, Waterloo Park, Norwich, October 21-27

To celebrate the opening of the new Park Britannia cafe at Waterloo Park, a whole host of free Halloween events have been planned includng a Halloween party, potion making, face painting, crafts and more. For a full list of events visit

7. A Horrid Halloween Half Term, Norwich Castle, October 23-27

A week of Halloween fun will be taking place at Norwich castle, with creepy dungeon tours, quizzes, a wizardry school, crafts, storytelling and more. For more information on specific activities visit
