Burnham Market lived up to its Ab Fab image as both Amanda Holden and Anneka Rice joined more than 200 guests at the Hoste Arms on Saturday to get a first look at Beautiful Bottoms, a new silk lingerie range produced by three students, including Lauren Skerritt, from Brancaster Staithe.

The stars are close friends of Lauren's family, including her stepfather and owner of the Hoste Arms, Paul Whittome.

Beautiful Bottoms has been produced by Lauren and two university friends, Poppy Sexton-Wainwright, from London, and Isabel Bradshaw, from Wales.

The trio, all in their third year at Newcastle University where they are studying marketing and management, have controlled the entire process from working out the designs to getting the pieces produced in India and shipped home.

At present there is one design which comes in three different prints - Africa, Leaf and Pink - and only in sizes 8-12.

And at £30 for a bra, £22 for pants and £49.99 for the set it might require a special occasion.

But they are bold pieces, with pretty bow details, and should really be worn to be seen so they are perfect with sheer fabrics, under kaftans or with skimpy vest tops.

As she posed for photographs with the designers and their models, wearing a pair of black killer heels and a short printed dress, Amanda joked: “Why am I here next to all these gorgeous skinny girls with no cellulite - I must be mad.”

She added: “But I am very proud of them. This is a real achievement and I'm sure it will be an overnight success.”

And another firm Norfolk fan, Anneka Rice, also looking wonderful in a short red dress and high black boots, spoke of her pride at the girls' achievements and urged everyone to get shopping.

“They are so resourceful - managing to do all this while still at university - I see it as a global concern,” she said.

The girls, all aged 21, see this as just the start.

They plan to extend the women's range with a more subtle colour collection, including black and cream, and also hope to move into menswear with a selection of boxer shorts.

“We see this very much as the beginning,” said Isabel. “Once we get our essays and seminars out of the way.”

The range is stocked at Anna's boutique in Burnham Market and is also available online at: www.beautifulbottoms.co.uk
