Town councillors in Fakenham and Wells have agreed their respective towns' share of the council tax bill for the next financial year. Fakenham's precept for the year ending 31 March 2011 will be �133,694 - an increase of 3pc on the previous year.

Fakenham's precept for the year ending 31 March 2011 will be �133,694 - an increase of 3pc on the previous year.
Meanwhile, Wells Town Council has succeeded in keeping its precept unchanged for the fourth year running after agreeing a figure of �68,000.
Councillor Mike Gates said the budgeting had been helped by an �11,000 budget surplus this year which meant the council would not need to increase the precept to pay for services within the parish.
Wells' provisional budget for 2010/2011 includes �12,000 for the first of a three-year landscaping plan to protect The Buttlands from erosion, and �1,600 for a digital mapping system to catalogue cemetery and allotment records. Councillors agreed to see the system in action before the purchase was authorised.
