Following last year's high-profile event, when well-known actress and TV's Britain's Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden, combined the switch-on with her own pre-wedding hen weekend and was joined by several of her fellow actresses, the village lighting committee have decided to go traditional this year and Father Christmas is to perform the honours at 4.30pm.
