A 'changing places' toilet block under construction in Fakenham has reached a major milestone.
A roof has been fitted onto the onto the state-of-the-art facility, which, North Norfolk District Council plans to open at Queens Road Car Park next March.
The new loo is both water and energy efficient, with male and female facilities, a gender-neutral room, a family room and accessible, changing places' toilets inside.
The toilet block is part of a £568,000 NNDC project to bring new toilets to Wells and Fakenham.
Christopher Cushing, NNDC councillor, said: “Putting the new roof on this week is a significant milestone. Unfortunately, it will still take another four months to complete. It will be 'state of the art' when done and a real asset for the town."
When demolition and site work commenced in March, unrecorded cables belonging to UK Power Networks were discovered.
Work had to be suspended while UK Power Networks undertook work on the site.
