Drivers are being asked to avoid part of the A148 due to a police closure.
Police were called to the road near Sculthorpe just at 5am today, December 6, to a crash.
A motorist reported hitting something and was in the middle of the road blocking both carriageways.
Officers attended the scene and while there, another driver hit the back of the police car.
The road was closed between the junctions with the B1454 and the B1355.
Emergency services were on the scene but no injuries were reported.
The road was closed in both directions and reopened at 6.54am.
There were queues in the area in both directions.
