Two Norfolk restaurants have been named among the best in the UK by The Sunday Times.

The Times' list, recognising the top 49 places to eat in the UK this summer, included Old Hall Farm, near Bungay, and Barsham Brewery near Fakenham as two of the county's finest.

Chosen by Norfolk-born Tom Aikens, who holds a Michelin star for his Muse restaurant in London, the eateries were praised for their summery atmosphere and unbeatable dining options.

Old Hall Farm, a family-run deli and café in Woodton, serves "amazing" dairy products from its Jersey cows, including afternoon tea, ice cream and milkshakes.

The eatery, which began life as an honesty box, was featured on James Martin's Saturday Morning earlier this year.

The presenter used ingredients from the shop to make his own recipes before sharing some of his dishes with the chefs at the farm's restaurant.

Barsham Brewery was applauded for its weekly summer street food event that offers plenty of live music, "delicious" food and its own brand of beer.

Aikens grew up in Norwich and attended hotel school at City College Norwich.

At the age of 26, he became the youngest British chef ever to be awarded two Michelin stars.
