This year's Wells Carnival promises to be one of the biggest in the more than 100-year history of the event.

Ten days of festivities start today (July 28), with the action leading up to 'carnival day' -on Saturday, August 5.

This will feature a parade through the streets of the town, leaving from the Buttlands at 3pm.

The carnival will also feature magic shows, a cocktail evening, history walks, and live music - with most events being free-of-charge or with only a small fee to take part.
