March: Max, three, receives all-clear after cancer treatment

Max underwent nearly eight months of cancer treatment, and at the end of July, he rang the 'end of treatment' bell at Addenbrooke's to celebrate the all-clear.

As a lover of all things emergency services, officers from March Police Station, the area where Max is from, were there to surprise Max after he received his fantastic news.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: "We hope you've got the brightest future ahead of you Max, you're an inspiration to us, as we are to you, and you never know, you might be one of us for real one day!"

Max was diagnosed with kidney cancer in November last year after many misdiagnoses. 

Doctors discovered he had a large 9cm tumour on his kidneys and, in December, he had the tumour removed after a seven-hour operation.

Devastatingly, his parents were given the news after the operation that the cancer had spread to Max's lymph nodes and was at stage three. 

This meant he would then require radiotherapy as well.

When officers learned of Max's diagnosis, they invited him to March Police Station back in January to help brighten what was an incredibly tough time for him.

Whilst there, they gave him a tour and made him an honorary member of the team for the day.

Officers then kept in touch with the family throughout his treatment. 

Once Max was given the all-clear, they were able to pay him a visit and make his day even more special.
