Plans have been revealed for a new holiday let in a village in an area of the county popular with tourists.

Craig Yarham has applied for planning permission to build a new garage with an appartment above on Avondale Road at South Creake, near Fakenham.

A planning statement says permission has already been granted for a three-bay garage with a studio above at Goldcrest House.

It adds the new application seeks to move the garage 19m to the west and use the studio as a holiday let.

It goes on: "The repositioning of the garage will enable both the residents of Goldcrest House and the visitors of the holiday let to have outdoor amenity space as well as privacy from one another."

The statement says the site is adjacent to the development boundary for South Creake.

But it adds: "Numerous applications for other holiday lets outside the development boundary in South Creake and other West Norfolk villages have been granted planning permission in recent years."

It describes the build as "a small-scale development" which will have "little or no effect" on the landscape.
