An annual festival celebrating local seafood is set to make waves when it returns to Norfolk this month.

The Oyster Festival is back at The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe, named among the UK's top 50 gastropubs, from Friday, August 18 until Sunday, August 20 with free entry and no need to book.

It will run from 12noon until late each day and there will be lots of Brancaster oysters shucked and served in a variety of ways, which can be washed down with English sparkling wines from Nyetimber.

There will be live music all weekend, including Nelson's Shantymen from 8pm to 10pm on Saturday.

Rob Williamson, general manager of The White Horse, said: "Brancaster Oysters are simply the best and are grown on the marshes beyond the bottom of our garden.

"It is a total weekend celebration and we really look forward to this annual event."
