The Good Hotel Guide has revealed its 2024 winners and a Norfolk establishment has been named among the best across Great Britain and Ireland. 

First published in 1978, the independent accommodation guide covers luxury and boutique hotels, B&Bs and inns.

The editors use both inspector and reader recommendations to select places to include and a handful are recognised with awards.

The 2024 Great Britain and Ireland winners have now been announced and a boutique hotel in Norfolk features in the "Oscars of hotel keeping" list.

The coveted César Awards are bestowed to the "12 best hotels of the year" and The Harper in Langham, near Holt, has been named the best in East Anglia.

The Good Hotel Guide said: "You don’t have to blow a fortune to stay at this relaxed yet refined hotel in converted barns, the former home of Langham Glass, and featuring many charming nods to its heritage." 

Created by Sam Cutmore-Scott, other features include Ivy's lounge and Stanley’s restaurant, named after his grandparents, and a private spa.

He said: "We are all mega-chuffed to be awarded this honour by the Good Hotel Guide with its reputation for independence.

"As a relatively new hotel, it means a huge amount to have the whole team’s hard work recognised and to be rubbing shoulders with the best of the best."

Other Norfolk establishments won Editor's Choice Awards, including The Rose and Crown in Snettisham and Titchwell Manor for Pubs with Rooms and Hotels with a View, respectively.
