A community shed project is still looking for its home 18 months after its creation.

Vic Gerrard, founder of the Fakenham Community Shed, said the group is still trying to get a base set up to hold its activities after the previous sites acquired fell through.

The group has been working for the past 18 months and has support from councils and the UK Mens Shed association.

“We are looking for local people who would look to support our venture as apart from waiting for a reply back from a few enquiries we have exhausted all areas that we could think of," Mr Gerrard said.

“We are looking to provide an area where people can come and take part or just have a tea and a chat, somewhere where they can feel welcome and not alone.

“We want a bit of land where we can create our own shed environment and involve the community in doing so.

"As we are setting up as a non-profit, funds at this time are difficult to look at for rental and rates for existing premises.”
