Is this Norfolk’s quirkiest bed and breakfast?
Set in the control tower of a disused Second World War airfield, the aptly named Control Tower is a vegetarian B&B in Walsingham.
Located on the site of the former RAF North Creake base, near Wells-next-the-sea, the B&B has three double en suite rooms and one suite - offering guests a stay with a generous helping of history.

Owners Claire Nugent and Nigel Morter opened the B&B back in June 2014 - and the pair have been putting on a whole host of events ever since.
From tower takeovers to history talks and airfield walks - they’ve always been keen to try new things for their guests.
But now they plan to do something they’ve never done before: a music gig live from their living room.

To celebrate the Control Tower’s upcoming 10th anniversary, singer songwriter Pete Astor, formerly of The Loft and Weather Prophets, and Neil Scott, of Sleeperman, Summerhill and Everything but the Girl, will be performing to a small audience from the front room of the B&B .
“We managed to see Pete and Neil play in a tiny venue in Sheffield,” owner Miss Nugent said.
“We already know Neil from putting on other gigs locally in Norfolk. We chatted to him about how privileged we felt seeing them play such an intimate gig and joked that our living room at The Control Tower was about the same size as the venue we were in.
“Before we knew it, we had planned for them to come and play in our living room.”
