A supermarket chain’s convenience shop has finally opened following a delay.

Fakenham’s Morrisons Daily branch opened on October 27, following a short delay as it was discovered it required further property works.

The former McColl's in Bridge Street has been transformed into the new shop after Morrisons agreed to buy McColl's out of administration in May last year, and it now plans to convert all remaining McColl's stores into Morrisons Daily shops.

A Morrisons spokesperson said: “The new Morrisons Daily fresh food convenience store in Fakenham will offer customers a carefully tailored mix of Morrisons own brand products alongside branded favourites.

“As well as new ranges, the store has received a complete redesign internally and externally incorporating Morrisons bright, modern branding. Fresh food is at the heart of the store and we hope customers will love it."

Advertisements for the new shop stated it was due to open on September 8, but was delayed as work to the property was required.

Many McColl's have already been transformed - including three shops in Great Yarmouth which became Morrisons Daily shops in April.
