Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how accessible is your church?
Not as accessible as it should be, if yours is Fakenam's parish church, St Peter and St Paul's.
So organisers of this year's Christmas Tree Festival - the church's 23rd - are planning to put part of the proceeds to fund a revamped entranceway.
The church will also host 53 charities who have decorated their own trees to raise money for their causes.
Fakenham Parish Church's offerings during the festival help to pay towards its parish share - as well as hoping to fund the redevelopment project of its entrance, which it hopes to begin in January.
Festival administrator, Anne Peppitt, said: “It's all about making the church more accessible.
“We currently have a very steep ramp, which can be tricky for people in wheelchairs, with prams or people who struggle to move on an incline.
“We also want to replace the heavy door with a new glass one, and make it easier for everyone to get into the church.”
The event runs from November 30 to December 8.
All trees have been donated by Fakenham Garden Centre.
The church will also raise money through its raffle, with donated prizes, a tombola, and refreshments - with sponsorships from the Rotary Club and Hayes and Storr Solicitors.
