A bar and restaurant in a market town is now branching out with a food delivery service.

The Red Lion Lounge in Fakenham has officially launched its new collection service and is preparing to start its takeaway delivery offering shortly.

The lounge, found in the town’s marketplace, was taken over by Andrew Felton in October when he expanded his portfolio of ownership with the cocktail bar and bistro-style restaurant, alongside Drifters Fish and Chip shop.

Mr Felton has been amazed by the response: “We’ve had such extremely positive feedback, it was just going to be collection for a few weeks, but because the reaction is so keen, the takeaway service is something we are pushing to start in the next week or so.

“I aim to try and bring the restaurant experience into your dining room, we want to offer something more gourmet.

"It gives us the chance to change the menu up with the seasons while offering our core range of gourmet burgers, fries, salads and chicken wings, as well as being able to deliver alcohol.”

To mark the collection launch, the restaurant gave out 100 free burgers on the day, with all of them gone within an hour.

Mr Felton said this new service aims to carry on the strong momentum for the business.

After a very busy December, he is hoping to push on in 2024, with a gin-tasting evening, and a Burns Night event with live music this month - before Valentine's Day in February.

“I’m hoping we can carry on the success we’ve had in this short time,” he added.

“We are so grateful that people are ready to support the business, especially during this time when money is a bit tighter.”

An official launch date for the takeaway service will be announced shortly.
