A boutique hotel has been renovated as part of a £675,000 investment project.

Plans to introduce 12 new bedrooms at the Globe Inn, The Buttlands, Wells, were revealed last October, alongside a new-look restaurant and courtyard with traditional Italian wood-fired pizza oven.

The new rooms are part of the transformation of the former 19th century coach house and 1900s touring theatre and cabaret into 12 new rooms.

The new rooms will be launched at an evening event on June 21 and Stephen Bournes, who owns the hotel/restaurant/pub with wife Antonia, said: “This is a hugely exciting chapter for us and the future of The Globe Inn. We always knew we wanted to invest long-term in this lovely building and we’re very proud to have achieved all this in six months.”

The couple bought the hotel in 2013 and won Best Independent Hotel at the EDP Visit Norfolk Tourism Awards in 2015.
