A bestselling author joined a north Norfolk school for its end of year awards.
Staff and pupils at Astley Primary School in Fakenham Road, Briston were joined by Sarah Outen, an adventurer by land and sea, bestselling author and motivational speaker.
Keen to encourage people to go outside more and enable young people to access adventure, she is a proud ambassador and patron of a number of charities.
In November 2015 she completed her most recent major expedition, London2London:Via the World, which was an attempt to row, cycle and kayak 25,000 miles around the Northern Hemisphere.
School spokeswoman Karen Hunt said: “She gave a very inspiring speech to the pupils and visitors. She then presented the children with their awards. These were for excellence in curriculum learning, outstanding achievement/progress and outstanding attainment. The outstanding contribution to school life award was presented to Mia Starling.”
