Organisers of the Burnhams Flower Show and Carnival are hoping this year’s event will be more sedate than 2018’s, when a car ploughed through a marquee, injuring stallholders who feared it was a terrorist attack.
Dr Diana Black, show secretary, said the show on Saturday, July 13 should see a return to the usual programme of displays, music and fancy dress.
Dr Black said: "Following last year's dramatic events, this year's Burnhams Flower Show and Carnival will hopefully be a more traditional affair.
"There will be a variety of craft stalls, sideshows, games and children's entertainers, as well as Gray's Funfair to provide the thrills - refreshments will be served from the beer and tea tents."
At last year's show, a Toyota RAV4 hurtled through the tent before hitting a stage.
The shock was intensified by the discovery of a handwritten, paper note stuck on the dashboard of the car with instructions on how to drive such as "key in, ignition on, foot on brake, start engine".
Paramedics arrived shortly after the crash and treated Laurence Rubin, treasurer of the show, who had been knocked over by the car.
Insp Lou Provart said no arrests were made in relation to the incident, describing the event as "an unfortunate, unintended acceleration."
Dr Black said at the time the elderly female driver was shaken and apologetic.
This year's carnival parade will be led by the Phoenix Pipes and Drums Band from Watton, who will first play songs in front of The Hoste. Anyone wanting to take part in the fancy dress competition should be at the village green at 1.15pm. At 1.45pm the party will make their way through the village to the playing field on Creake Road.
On the field, the grand marquee will contain horticultural, cookery, photography and art and craft competitions.
Entertainment in the arena includes a display from the pipe band, a martial arts display, as well as the ever popular children's races.
There will be live music from Susan Jayne, singing a selection of classics, from 5pm to 7pm.
Entry to the field is £2 and children aged 12 and under go free.
