Chelsea football legend Ron “Chopper” Harris is due to officially open a new gym and health centre in Wells in April.
The former sportsman, regarded as one of the toughest defenders of his generation during the 1960s and 1970s, has been invited to formally launch Joint Effort, which opened on Staithe Street in January.
The centre, which specialises in GP referrals and personal training, is run by Paul Sandford who has 22 years experience in training anyone from novices to highly-conditioned athletes. His facilities include resistance equipment, weights, toning tables, sauna and a steam room.
While a date has yet to be set for the formal launch, the centre is already open from 9am-9pm on weekdays and 9am-midday at weekends. For more information, call 01328 712163.
