To celebrate spring, a special weekend-long event on the north Norfolk coast has been organised to welcome in the new season.

The Deepdale Spring Market and Deepdale Hygge is taking place at Burnham Deepdale this weekend.

This year’s market will see more than 50 artisans and producers from Norfolk joining the permanent shops and cafe at Dalegate Market.

Stalls will be at the beach hut pop up shop located inside two large marquees - the Dalegate Tent and the Orchard Tent - as well as others which will be outside around the site.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Deepdale Spring Market is a great opportunity to not only buy wonderful ‘not on the high street’ items, but to chat with the artisans and discover more about their inspiration and processes.

“You’ll find homewares, gifts, beers, wines, very tasty food, toys, art, jewellery, pottery, sweets and more.”

And while Dalegate Market concentrates on the artisans, next door the Deepdale Backpackers and Camping will be celebrating the countryside, coast and music of Norfolk with an organised Hygge.

The Deepdale Hygge is a celebration of things that bring happiness including live music, the great outdoors, meeting old friends and new, and enjoying the best of the north Norfolk coast. There will also be storytelling sessions and a chance to explore the solar system with King’s Lynn and District Astronomy Society.

The weekend will begin on Friday night with the launch of Marina Florance’s new album and a ‘ceilidh’ barn dance with Compass Moon. On Saturday the Deepdale crew and friends will be running activities including walking, cycling, running, Nordic walking, and paddle boarding.

The music line-up includes The Tildens, Matt Watson, Lisa Redford, the Sheringham Shantymen, Falling From Trees and Mammal Not Fish.

The weekend will be finished off with a nature scavenger hunt around Deepdale Farm.

- The Deepdale Spring Market is open from 10am to 5pm on Friday March 23 to Sunday March 25. Entry and car parking is free. For more information visit www.deepdalespringmarket.co.uk.

- Tickets for Deepdale Hygge cost £15 per adult and £7.50 per child plus accommodation. For more information or to buy tickets visit www.deepdalehygge.co.uk.
