Fire crews and an environmental protection unit were called to a Norfolk town after a “minor chemical leak”.
Crews from Fakenham and Holt were called to Norwich Road in Fakenham at 2.40pm on Thursday afternoon following a chemical leak.
They were accompanied by an environmental protection unit from King Lynn and a number of police vehicles.
The road was closed at both ends and a diversion was put in place while the fire crews contained the substance and made the area safe.
One motorist from the nearby village of West Raynham said she saw a number of police cars blocking the road and people were being told to avoid the area. She added that she saw multiple vehicles, including an incident van, entering Norwich Road with a fire engine.
Road conditions were back to normal shortly after 4pm.
