The popular Norfolk Blues Society is heading to one of Fakenham’s top entertainment spots for a night of entertainment and music.
Musicians from across the county are expected to head to the Gallery Bistro in Fakenham to collaborate and perform during a series of popular jam sessions.
Bar owner Liam O’Sullivan, said it will be the third time the Gallery Bistro has held the event and in the past it has proven to be extremely successful.
“People really shouldn’t miss out,” he said. “This event is taking place close to home and people will have the chance to walk into their local town and do something they wouldn’t normally do. I think a lot of people these days spend too much time at home, rather than getting out and enjoying themselves.”
The blues society is known as organisers of the annual Dereham Blues Festival, which has become a major hit in the town.
The blues jam at the Gallery Bistro will be the latest in a series of entertainment events that have been held at the bar since it first opened its doors 15 years ago.
Mr O’Sullivan said he has been striving to provide residents in the town with a wide range of entertainment events which are easily accessible.
He said: “We’ve always done events and my aim has been to provide something that I would personally love to go and see. It is something different in the town and it enables people to go out and see shows on their doorstep, rather than having to travel all the way into Norwich or further afield.”
The bar’s most recent success was last week’s Comedy Gala, which was an all-round night of entertainment cabaret, involving stand-up comedy, music and magic tricks.
Mr O’Sullivan said the comedy nights have proven to be so successful that he hopes to hold up to four more this year.
The blues jam session is free event and will be on Tuesday, March 6, at 7.30pm.
