Fakenham byelection as councillor quits

A by-election will have to be held in Fakenham after Stephanie Towers resigned as the North Norfolk councillor for the Lancaster (South) ward.

The Liberal Democrat has stood down “because of other commitments” and no other reason has been given for her departure.

A by-election will have to be held in Fakenham after Stephanie Towers resigned as the North Norfolk councillor for the Lancaster (South) ward.

The Liberal Democrat has stood down “because of other commitments” and no other reason has been given for her departure.

A by-election is to be fixed and it could be the same day as the general election, which is likely to be on May 6.

North Norfolk District Council said anyone wanting to consult a local member for the ward should contact councillor Gloria Lisher.
