Thomas Ware, Jonathan Court, Tombo Sutton, Andrew Dix and Richard Easter were presented with gift hampers by Morrisons in Fakenham.

The supermarket’s community champion Beth Whiteside said: “They spent the last few days helping people in the difficult conditions on the roads. They were selfless acts to help others.”

Fellow spokesman Patrick Payne added: “By spending time driving around the most difficult spots and posting all over social media, they urged anyone needing help to get in contact.

“During all that they even provided updates on the roads to help people prevent the worst. Between them they rescued around 100 cars and 20 trucks and Arctic’s while clocking up over 20 hours each. They even managed to find time to deliver some shopping and prescriptions.”
