A team of hairdressers from Fakenham have rallied together to help raise vital cash for the Stroke Association.
Emma Beaumont, of Flix Hair Design on Stratton Place, was inspired to take on the charity’s Make May Purple fundraiser to support those affected by strokes.
It comes after her 41-year-old husband Stuart, suffered a stroke in January, leaving him paralysed on one side and unable to walk or talk.
He spent a week in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, and had to undergo surgery before being moved to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in King’s Lynn, where he spent 13 weeks recovering.
Mrs Beaumont said: “The charity helped us get Stuart home and we, as a family, have had support from the charity to rehabilitate him at home.”
The team has been fundraising throughout May. So far they have raised £400 from a bake sale and raffle, which will be drawn on May 31 by Stroke Association member, George Burroughs.
Tickets for the raffle can still be purchased until the draw on May 31.
